Online-asynchronous Instruction -New Definition |
Fully Online | A course format that provides required contact hours for the course asynchronously online, but the course may have optional online synchronous or face-to-face sessions. To ensure equity, the instructor records and posts any optional online or face-to-face synchronous sessions with closed captioning and a feedback loop to give students an opportunity to engage with the instructor and other students to confirm learning. Directed Instruction | Directed/Guided Study | A course that involves individualized direct supervision or guidance, typically with no classroom instruction. The schedule is worked out with the supervising instructor or researcher and may be in person, online, or some combination of modalities.
